An underground MMA fighter must confront his sister and his past in an adventure through parallel universes

Explained

What people think about Parallels

Parallels is the kind of lean, high-concept sci-fi that feels like you stumbled onto a great Twilight Zone episode and it simply refuses to stop escalating. It drops an underground fighter and his estranged sister into a shifting maze of alternate Earths, where every new world has its own rules, its own dangers, and just enough eerie familiarity to keep you leaning forward. Director Christopher Leone keeps the pace brisk and the ideas playful—grounding the spectacle in a prickly, believable sibling dynamic and letting the tension build through close calls, smart reveals, and a constant ticking-clock urgency. It does get intense with guns, hostage threats, and post-apocalyptic imagery, so it’s not for viewers craving cozy sci-fi, but if you like your science fiction punchy, inventive, and addicted to “one more twist,” this is an easy recommendation.
