Game Over, Man! (2018)

Game Over, Man! is the kind of action-comedy that doesn’t tiptoe into its premise—it cannonballs in, splashing you with anarchic energy, buddy chemistry, and a gleefully dumb commitment to going bigger, louder, and more ridiculous every minute it’s on screen. Kyle Newacheck shoots the hotel-under-siege setup like a B-movie playground, then lets Adam Devine, Anders Holm, and Blake Anderson turn panic into punchlines with the loose, lived-in rapport that made their comedy click in the first place. The vibe is raunchy, hyperactive, and proudly tasteless, the sort of movie that treats good sense as an optional accessory and replaces it with chaotic improvisation and cartoonish mayhem. It’s absolutely not for anyone allergic to extreme profanity, nudity, or gory gross-out jokes—but if you’re on the fence and want a shameless, high-octane laugh that never pretends to be classy, it delivers with reckless confidence.

Game Over, Man! is clearly trying to be a raunchy, video-game-brained Die Hard riff where three lovable losers stumble into hero mode, and it commits to that dumb, chaotic energy without blinking. The problem is the comedy leans heavily on shock-value vulgarity and gross-out set pieces, and if that brand of humor doesn’t hit for you, there isn’t much else underneath to keep you invested. The action is noisy and occasionally inventive, but it’s also sloppy and familiar, and the characters can come off more obnoxious than endearing. If you like the Workaholics crew and can tolerate extreme profanity, nudity, and gory “did they really just do that?” jokes, you may get a few solid laughs; if you want clever writing or even a mildly subtle comedy, this will feel like a long, loud waste of time.
