Explained

What people think about Sorry If I Call You Love

Sorry If I Call You Love is the kind of glossy, open-hearted romantic drama that sweeps you up less with twists than with mood—sunlit Barcelona streets, stylish visuals, and the pleasurable sense of watching two lives collide at exactly the wrong/right moment. Joaquín Llamas keeps the storytelling sincere rather than winking, letting the chemistry do the heavy lifting as Daniele Liotti’s polished, wounded Álex meets his match in Paloma Bloyd’s bright, disarming Niki and her lively circle of friends. The film looks terrific, too, with cinematography that makes the city feel like a promise and a temptation at once, and performances that sell the yearning without turning it cynical. If age-gap romances or “forbidden love” fantasies aren’t your thing, it may not convert you—but if you’re craving a romantic escape with real emotional ache under the sheen, this one goes down easy and lingers.
