20212h 14mPG-13ComedyCrimeFamily

In 1970s London amidst the punk rock revolution, a young grifter named Estella is determined to make a name for herself with her designs. She befriends a pair of young thieves who appreciate her appetite for mischief, and together they are able to build a life for themselves on the London streets. One day, Estella’s flair for fashion catches the eye of the Baroness von Hellman, a fashion legend who is devastatingly chic and terrifyingly haute. But their relationship sets in motion a course of events and revelations that will cause Estella to embrace her wicked side and become the raucous, fashionable and revenge-bent Cruella.

Explained

What people think about Cruella

What makes Cruella such a wicked pleasure is how unapologetically it turns fashion into a full-contact sport—part runway spectacle, part punk-rock heist movie, all swagger. Craig Gillespie stages 1970s London like a glitter-bombed battleground, where Emma Stone’s Estella evolves with snarling charisma and just enough vulnerability to keep you leaning in, while Emma Thompson’s Baroness is a deliciously icy force of nature. The costumes aren’t just pretty; they’re storytelling, stitched to a propulsive soundtrack that keeps the whole film strutting forward with mischievous energy. If you want a reverent Disney throwback, this might feel too sharp-edged, but if you’re in the mood for a stylish, fast, and fiercely entertaining romp, Cruella earns its spot in your queue.
