The Transporter Refueled (2015)
The fast-paced action movie is again set in the criminal underworld in France, where Frank Martin is known as The Transporter, because he is the best driver and mercenary money can buy. In this installment, he meets Anna and they attempt to take down a group of ruthless Russian human traffickers who also have kidnapped Frank’s father.
What people think about The Transporter Refueled
The Transporter Refueled is the kind of glossy, high-octane action movie that knows exactly what it’s there to do: deliver sleek car chases, crisp fight choreography, and a Riviera backdrop so sunlit it practically dares the violence to look stylish. Ed Skrein brings a cool, physical precision to Frank Martin, while Ray Stevenson adds welcome heft and bite as the father who turns the whole ordeal into something more than just another job. The tone is pure B-movie escapism—absurd in places, sure, but propelled by enough energy and well-staged set pieces that it becomes part of the fun rather than a flaw. If you’re looking for grounded crime drama, this isn’t it; if you want a fast, disposable thrill ride with polish and momentum, it’s an easy ticket.
The Transporter Refueled is clearly trying to reboot the franchise with slick Riviera scenery, fast cars, and a “take down the traffickers” revenge hook that wants to feel timely and empowering. The problem is the story often plays like a glossy checklist of twists and double-crosses rather than something that actually makes sense, and without Jason Statham’s natural swagger the new Frank can feel more like a competent stunt driver than a magnetic antihero. The action is serviceable and Ray Stevenson brings some welcome bite, but the set pieces rarely hit that standout, rewatchable level the series used to promise. If you’re here for brain-off chases and don’t mind a generic, style-over-substance reboot, you’ll get by; if you want tight plotting, memorable fights, or that original Transporter charisma, this probably isn’t for you.
