Masahiro Higashide and Taichi Saotome sell the rivalry with real presence, and the brawls are shot and performed with a satisfying clarity and weight that action fans will feel in their ribs. It’s loud, violent, and unapologetically testosterone-fueled—so if severe beatdowns aren’t your thing, steer clear—but if you want a delinquent epic with style, momentum, and fighters you can believe in, it delivers.

Crows Explode is clearly trying to deliver a loud, testosterone-fueled delinquent-school saga where loyalty, hierarchy, and bruising brawls matter more than subtlety, and it commits to that with energy and style. The problem is it leans so hard on “new tough guy arrives, factions clash, everyone fights again” that the story can feel like a remix of better entries in the genre, with repetition that starts to wear you down. If you’re not already a fan of Suzuran mythology and don’t enjoy long stretches of punch-first-plot-later action, this will likely feel exhausting rather than thrilling. Still, the cast has presence and the violence is staged with enough grit to satisfy viewers who mainly want a relentless parade of fights and swagger.
