Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates (2016)

20161h 38mRComedy

Mike and Dave are young, adventurous, fun-loving brothers who tend to get out of control at family gatherings. When their sister Jeanie reveals her Hawaiian wedding plans, the rest of the Stangles insist that the brothers bring respectable dates. After placing an ad on Craigslist, the siblings decide to pick Tatiana and Alice, two charming and seemingly normal women. Once they arrive on the island, however, Mike and Dave realize that their companions are ready to get wild and party.

Explained

What people think about Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates

Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates is the rare raunch-comedy that actually earns its chaos, taking a simple “behave at the wedding” setup and turning it into a sun-soaked escalation of bad decisions with the gleeful momentum of a runaway golf cart. Zac Efron and Adam Devine have the bickering-brothers chemistry down cold, but the real spark comes from Anna Kendrick (and Aubrey Plaza, wonderfully unhinged) matching them beat for beat, so the movie feels less like dudes running wild and more like a four-way comic demolition derby. The vibe is loud, shameless, and aggressively silly, yet it sneaks in just enough warmth about family and growing up to keep the mayhem from feeling empty. Fair warning: it’s very R-rated and proudly filthy, so if you don’t like crude humor, this won’t convert you—but if you do, it’s a reliably hilarious vacation from good taste.
