Transformers Prime: Beast Hunters – Predacons Rising feels like a well-earned victory lap: a brisk, action-charged finale that treats its characters with the kind of mythic seriousness this franchise is capable of when it’s firing on all cylinders. It has the sleek, cinematic vibe of the Transformers Prime series—clean animation, weighty battles, and a pulpy sense of cosmic threat—while giving Peter Cullen and Frank Welker room to bring real gravitas to Optimus and Megatron. The story moves with purpose toward a satisfying conclusion, folding Autobots, Decepticons, and Predacons into an uneasy alliance that’s fun to watch without demanding that you’ve memorized every bit of lore. If you’re not already on this show’s wavelength, it may play like fan-service with a capital F, but for anyone even mildly invested in Prime, it’s an energetic, fitting send-off.

Predacons Rising is clearly trying to give Transformers Prime a big, emotional victory lap, with higher stakes, familiar voices, and a “final boss” threat that’s meant to feel mythic. The problem is it plays like a feature-length finale rather than a standalone movie, so if you don’t already know the show’s relationships, lore, and who’s who, a lot of the drama lands as noise instead of payoff. The action and animation are solid for a TV movie, and longtime fans will appreciate the closure and character beats, but newcomers may find it rushed, jargon-heavy, and oddly hard to care about. If you want a clean entry point into Transformers, this isn’t it; if you want one last chapter with Optimus and company, it does the job.
