Bill Condon leans into the film’s romantic, cozy enchantment, letting the familiar songs bloom with fresh grandeur while the production design does half the storytelling on its own. Emma Watson brings a grounded warmth to Belle, Dan Stevens gives the Beast real emotional weight beneath the fur and fury, and Luke Evans makes Gaston delightfully larger-than-life in the best fairy-tale way. If you’re allergic to big, earnest Disney musical energy, it may be too sincere for your taste—but if you want comfort, wonder, and a little old-fashioned magic, it’s an easy yes.
