Vince Vaughn gets to weaponize his rhythm in a role that’s equal parts funny and frazzled, James Marsden brings surprising heart under the cool, and Eiza González is the film’s sharp edge—smart, game, and never just “the woman in the middle.” It is, however, proudly R-rated and not shy about blood, sex, or bad behavior, so if you like your laughs clean this won’t be your time machine—but if you want a violent, clever, fast-moving thrill ride that knows exactly how absurd its premise is, it’s an easy yes.
