What people think about Naayak
Naayak is the kind of unapologetic, crowd-pleasing masala entertainer that reminds you why “movie star” is still a job description: Ram Charan attacks the screen with swagger and sincerity, juggling dual roles in a way that keeps the energy high and the stakes personal. Director V. V. Vinayak stages the action with a festival-movie sense of scale, but it’s the brisk screenplay and punchy, often funny dialogue that make the ride feel lively rather than merely loud. The tone swings from playful romance to righteous vengeance without getting bogged down, aiming for catharsis and cheers more than realism. If you don’t enjoy larger-than-life violence and melodrama, this won’t convert you—but if you want a three-hour blast of heroism, humor, and comeuppance served hot, Naayak delivers.
Naayak is aiming to be a full-throttle “mass” entertainer: double role heroics, vigilante justice, big emotions, and crowd-pleasing set pieces that don’t pretend to be subtle. The problem is it leans hard on a familiar commercial formula, so if you’re allergic to predictable twists, recycled beats, and long stretches of “seen this before,” you’ll feel the runtime. The second half also gets notably more brutal, with violence that can cross from punchy to unpleasant, especially if you prefer your action stylish rather than stomach-churning. If you’re here for Ram Charan’s swagger, larger-than-life fights, and the sheer spectacle of it all, it delivers; if you want tight writing, fresh plotting, or restraint, this probably isn’t your film.
