Goon: Last of the Enforcers (2017)

Goon: Last of the Enforcers is the kind of sequel that knows exactly what it is: a bruising, big-hearted hockey comedy that swings hard for laughs and lands more often than you’d expect. Seann William Scott remains disarmingly likable as Doug Glatt, a lovable blunt instrument trying to grow up without losing what makes him himself, and Jay Baruchel directs with a scrappy affection for locker-room chaos and underdog spirit. The vibe is rowdy and profane, but there’s a sincere pulse underneath the busted knuckles—about loyalty, identity, and the strange tenderness that can exist inside a violent sport. If you’re not on board with R-rated brawls and crude jokes, it’ll be too much, but if you want an entertaining, rough-charm crowd-pleaser that still has a heart, it’s an easy pick.
