Dark Skies (2013)

Dark Skies takes the familiar comfort of suburbia and slowly, methodically turns it into a pressure cooker, building dread not with gore but with the unnerving sense that something is watching, learning, and closing in. Keri Russell anchors the film with a grounded, fiercely human performance that makes the fear feel lived-in rather than theatrical, while the story’s sci-fi angle gives the horror an icy, uncanny flavor that lingers after the lights come up.
