Snatched (2017)

Snatched is the kind of unruly, crowd-pleasing comedy that earns its laughs by throwing two sharply mismatched people into the same disaster and letting their personalities do the fireworks. Amy Schumer’s impulsive panic and Goldie Hawn’s gloriously tight-laced worry make for a surprisingly sweet mother-daughter pairing, and the movie keeps finding new ways to turn their bickering into genuine affection without ever losing its brisk, action-satire momentum. Director Jonathan Levine gives it a sunny vacation sheen that gradually curdles into jungle-chaos absurdity, where the danger is real enough to add spice but never so heavy that it stops being fun. If you’re allergic to R-rated crudity or prefer your action-comedy more polished than shameless, it may not be your trip—but if you want a goofy, energetic ride powered by two pros with great chemistry, this one delivers.
