Boris Kunz keeps the sci-fi grounded and the tension tight, letting the thriller momentum pull you along while the moral questions about class, aging, and consent keep echoing after each scene. Kostja Ullmann anchors it with a performance that feels lived-in and increasingly haunted, and the film’s clinical, modern vibe makes every choice feel uncomfortably plausible. It’s not a breezy watch—there’s violence, bodily harm, and some harsh implications—but if you like smart genre stories that entertain while they challenge your conscience, this one is absolutely worth your time.

Paradise is clearly aiming for sleek, near-future moral sci-fi: a high-concept “lifespan as currency” thriller about exploitation, guilt, and what people will do when the system corners them. The problem is that after a punchy setup, it often settles into familiar chase-and-conspiracy beats, with twists you can see coming and a script that doesn’t dig as deeply into the political and ethical fallout as the premise begs for.
