Authors Anonymous is the kind of small, scrappy comedy that finds its sweet spot in the petty jealousies and accidental tenderness of creative people trapped in the same room. It plays like a particularly good sitcom episode stretched to feature length—quick jabs, bruised egos, and the oddly comforting rhythm of misfits bickering their way toward something like friendship. Dennis Farina brings a welcome edge and authority to the ensemble, giving the group’s chaos a sharp, grounded center whenever he’s on screen. It’s not for everyone—especially if you want big cinematic ambition—but if you enjoy character-driven humor about artists being their own worst enemies, it’s an easy, likable watch.
