Hit & Run (2012)

Hit & Run is the kind of movie that sneaks up on you: a genuinely charming romance strapped to a scrappy, old-school car-chase comedy that keeps finding new ways to be playful. Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell have that rare, lived-in chemistry where the flirting feels effortless and the bickering feels like foreplay, and the film lets their warmth carry you through the mayhem instead of drowning everything in noise. The vibe is sun-baked, slightly outrageous, and cheerfully offbeat—more “friends daring each other to go faster” than grim crime thriller—so the action lands with a grin and the jokes land because the characters do. It is very R-rated and proudly crude, so it won’t be for everyone, but if you’re in the mood for a funny, fast, surprisingly sweet road ride, it’s much more fun than its generic title suggests.
