The vibe is naturalistic and emotionally restrained—more about watching trust form than being pushed toward big, showy payoffs—and that patience is exactly what makes it linger. Fair warning: it’s set against an adult-industry backdrop with explicit sexual content and strong language, so it won’t be for everyone, but if you can meet it where it is, it rewards you with rare, humane intimacy.

When it works, it’s because Dree Hemingway and Besedka Johnson give the relationship a natural, lived-in tenderness, and the film quietly observes small moments without forcing big speeches. But it’s also slow and sometimes feels dramatically “arranged” rather than earned, with character backstory and emotional payoffs that can land as thin or conveniently timed instead of deeply explored. Add very explicit sexual content and heavy language that isn’t remotely background flavor, and if you’re not up for a deliberately meandering indie drama that can feel a bit superficial despite its serious intentions, this probably isn’t for you.
