It’s light, charming fun more than a big emotional wallop, but if you want a clever, crowd-pleasing Toy Story side adventure, this one absolutely delivers.

Small Fry is clearly trying to deliver a quick Toy Story side-adventure: a cute “impostor Buzz” gag, a dash of chaos, and a little heart about forgotten toys. The problem is it feels like a sketch stretched to a short, with the funniest idea arriving fast and then wrapping up before it can really land, so it can come off rushed and oddly forgettable by Pixar standards. If you’re expecting the emotional punch, clever layering, or big character growth of the main films, this one may feel like a lightweight extra rather than essential viewing. Still, the animation is polished, the Toy Story cast remains charming, and the abandoned-toy support group is a genuinely fun concept even if it’s over too soon.
