Lorna is a strong-willed Texas woman who’s had enough of her untrustworthy husband Dale’s criminal acts and lack of husbandry. Explained

What people think about Breathless

Breathless is the kind of lean, mean, darkly funny crime thriller that grabs you by the collar and drags you through a sun-baked Texas mess with a grin on its face. Jesse Baget keeps the pacing tight and the tone deliciously pulpy, letting the movie’s offbeat humor and sudden nastiness coexist in a way that feels more like a midnight movie you can’t stop watching than a polite whodunit. Gina Gershon is terrific as a woman who’s done being played for a fool, and the supporting turns—especially as loyalties curdle and plans go sideways—give the whole thing a charged, twist-hungry momentum. It’s not for the squeamish, since the violence is blunt and bloody, but if you like your mysteries nasty, your comedy pitch-black, and your crime stories eager to surprise you, this one earns its title.
