Bad Behavior (2013)

Bad Behavior takes a classic “one house, one long night” setup and squeezes it for every drop of tension, turning ordinary babysitting duties into a tight little pressure cooker of dread. It’s a fun, pulpy TV-thriller that knows how to keep you guessing without needing extravagant set pieces—just locked doors, creeping suspicion, and the unnerving sense that safety is slipping away minute by minute. Hallee Hirsh anchors the film with a grounded, fight-to-survive intensity, while Linda Hamilton brings a welcome jolt of authority and edge whenever the story needs it. If you’re looking for elevated, subtle horror, this may feel more like a brisk genre ride than a deep dive—but if you want a suspenseful night-in movie with solid performances and a nasty streak, it delivers.

Bad Behavior is clearly aiming for a tense, claustrophobic “babysitter in danger” thriller where paranoia builds and trust erodes as the night drags on. The problem is it rarely earns that tension: the suspense feels thin, the beats play out in familiar ways, and the twist is the kind you’ll likely see coming well before the movie wants you to. Performances do what they can (Linda Hamilton brings some needed authority), but the direction and pacing keep it stuck in TV-movie autopilot rather than genuinely unsettling.
