Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children feels like a storybook left out in the rain—still beautiful, but darker around the edges in that unmistakably Tim Burton way. What makes it special is how effortlessly it turns wonder into a lived-in world: a windswept island, a house full of oddball miracles, and a daily rhythm that’s equal parts cozy and unnerving, all realized with production design you can practically breathe in. Eva Green anchors the film with sly warmth and steely poise, while the movie’s imagination keeps unfurling new sights and rules without losing its human heartbeat. It’s not for everyone if you’re allergic to creepy creatures or PG-13 peril, but if you want a fantasy adventure with genuine atmosphere and a handcrafted, gothic glow, this one is easy to recommend.
