Robert Pattinson’s Batman is brooding in a way that’s purposeful rather than performative, and the chemistry with Zoë Kravitz’s Selina Kyle, alongside Jeffrey Wright’s steady, humane Gordon, gives the darkness a pulse. It’s long and unapologetically bleak, so it won’t be for anyone craving quips and bright escapism—but if you want a gritty, ambitious thriller that actually investigates what Batman means, this one delivers.
