Overheard 2 is trying to be a slick, morally tangled Hong Kong financial thriller where surveillance, corruption, and personal vendettas collide, and on that level it’s certainly busy and ambitious. The problem is it can feel more like a lecture in stock-market scheming than a clean cat-and-mouse story, with lots of jargon and plot mechanics that dampen the tension instead of sharpening it. If you’re here for punchy action beats or a tight, easy-to-follow thriller, you may find it talky, convoluted, and emotionally distant despite the high stakes. Still, the cast brings seriousness and polish, and if you enjoy dense “money and power” crime dramas with a cold, procedural edge, it can be a decent, if uneven, ride.
