The animation pops with bright, tactile detail, turning Peru’s iconic vistas into a playground of wonder, while the direction keeps the pace brisk and the jokes landing without smothering the sense of discovery. Its supporting cast adds warmth and personality, giving the film an easygoing, family-friendly charm that still knows how to stage a proper action set piece. Fair warning: the peril is frequent and the villains are genuinely menacing at times, so it may be a tad intense for the very youngest, but if you want a funny, upbeat adventure that looks better than you’d expect and moves like a crowd-pleaser, this one earns the trip.

The problem is it often feels like a bargain-bin imitation: the plot hits familiar beats without much surprise, the villainy is pretty thin, and the characters don’t get a lot of depth beyond their basic roles. There’s also a fair bit of peril—guns, chases, and constant action—that may be more intense than you’d expect for very young kids.
