Explained

What people think about The Cursed: Dead Man's Prey

The Cursed: Dead Man’s Prey has the rare gift of turning a chilling supernatural hook into a breathless, street-level thriller: when the killer is already dead, every assumption about motive, evidence, and justice collapses. Director Kim Yong-wan keeps the tension tight and the pace urgent, blending striking pursuit-and-attack set pieces with an eerie undercurrent of shamanic dread that feels distinctly Korean rather than generic horror. Uhm Ji-won anchors the film with a reporter’s stubborn clarity, and the story’s darker turns gradually sharpen into something unexpectedly humane, with redemption threaded through the mayhem. If you want slow-burn atmosphere over action you may find it a little propulsive, but if you’re on the fence and craving a mystery that escalates into bold, supernatural momentum, this one delivers.
