The movie nails a spooky-but-playful vibe, with genuinely creepy monster designs and brisk set pieces that keep the mystery moving while still making room for Shaggy-and-Scooby silliness and the gang’s familiar rhythms. It’s especially fun watching Fred in “my old camp” mode, because the setting gives the investigation real texture—lakes, canyons, rival campers, and secrets that feel like they’ve been waiting under the dock for years. If you want a faithful Scooby whodunit with stronger atmosphere than usual, this one delivers; just know that the scares are a notch more intense than the gentlest entries, so very sensitive little kids might find a few moments too spooky.
