Dianna Agron gives a raw, committed performance that keeps the film grounded even as reality starts to fracture, and Melora Hardin is chillingly persuasive as the kind of authority figure who smiles while tightening the screws. It’s not for the squeamish—there’s intense body-horror and disturbing childbirth imagery—but if you like thrillers that are as thought-provoking as they are creepy, Clock is the kind of genre swing that sticks under your skin.

Clock is clearly trying to be a sharp, modern body-horror thriller about reproductive pressure and the way society treats a woman’s choices like a malfunction that needs “fixing.” When it works, it’s nasty in an intentional way, with Dianna Agron committing hard to the unraveling and some genuinely unsettling imagery that sticks. The problem is the movie leans so loudly on its metaphor that the story starts to feel like a series of blunt symbolic shocks rather than a steadily building, believable descent, and the pacing gets wobbly as it heads into the final stretch. If you want a tight, coherent horror narrative with a satisfying payoff, this may frustrate you; if you’re up for an uncomfortable, message-forward nightmare that prioritizes theme and visuals over clarity, you’ll likely get more out of it.
