Collision is clearly trying to mash up a desert survival thriller with a twisty newlywed betrayal story, and the Moroccan setting plus a few gritty faces in the cast hint at something pulpy and tense. The problem is the film often feels like it’s improvising its way from one “shocking” turn to the next, with an incoherent script and an oddly empty sense of danger for a movie built around a deadly crash. Instead of escalating suspense, it leans into melodrama and absurd decisions that can make the whole thing play like a cheap reality-show survival episode.
