Fun Size (2012)

Fun Size is a Halloween-night comedy that moves like a sugar rush: fast, bright, and happily chaotic, with just enough heart underneath to keep it from feeling disposable. Josh Schwartz treats Cleveland like a playground of costumes, parties, and misadventures, letting Victoria Justice’s Wren anchor the mayhem with a likable mix of frustration, determination, and teen longing for something bigger. The jokes come steadily—sometimes silly, sometimes surprisingly sharp—and the film keeps finding small, sweet beats amid the sprint to reunite one frazzled sister with one very slippery little brother. It’s definitely on the edgier side for a “family” pick thanks to the language and suggestive teen-party humor, but if you’re in the mood for a breezy, slightly rowdy, warm-hearted romp, it’s a charming way to spend 90 minutes.
