Little Deaths is the kind of horror anthology that doesn’t just try to shock you—it tries to implicate you, drawing a straight, unsettling line between desire and dread until the two feel inseparable. Across three distinct tales, it trades cheap twist mechanics for a thick, grimy atmosphere and a surprisingly serious intent, using erotic charge and taboo subject matter to probe power, cruelty, and the ways intimacy can curdle into something monstrous. The filmmaking has a cold confidence, letting each segment breathe long enough to feel like a complete nightmare rather than a tossed-off vignette, and the cumulative effect is more substantial than most anthology fare. Be warned: this is extreme, sexually violent, and deliberately punishing, so it’s not for everyone—but if you’re on the fence and want horror that actually has teeth, Little Deaths is hard to shake.

Little Deaths is clearly aiming for a provocative, arthouse-style horror anthology where sex and power curdle into violence, and it commits to that theme with real conviction. The problem is that it often feels less like insightful transgression and more like endurance cinema: the stories lean heavily on sexual violence, humiliation, and cruelty, leaving very little room for suspense, character depth, or emotional payoff. There are flashes of strong atmosphere and a couple of genuinely unsettling ideas, but the film’s shock-first approach can make it feel monotonous and mean rather than scary. If you’re not specifically looking for extreme, taboo material that’s designed to disgust and disturb more than entertain, this is one to skip.
