Gallants is clearly trying to be a warm, old-school Hong Kong kung fu throwback with underdog charm, aging heroes, and a community-vs-developers setup that’s easy to root for. The problem is it often feels like it’s coasting on nostalgia and jokes while rationing the very thing you came for: satisfying, authentic martial arts action, with pacing that can drag in the middle.
