Bishal Dutta builds an eerie, skin-prickling atmosphere where a high school’s fluorescent normalcy keeps curdling into nightmare, and the imagery lands with the sharpness of a bad memory you can’t shake. Megan Suri anchors the film with a performance that sells both teen insecurity and real terror, while the bond between Sam and Tamira gives the story an emotional pulse beneath the jolts. It’s a PG-13 horror that still gets nasty in flashes, and if you want constant gore or nonstop action you may find it measured—but if you’re on the fence, this is the kind of smart, culturally specific chill that lingers after the credits.

It Lives Inside wants to fuse a teen identity drama with a culturally rooted demon myth, and when it leans into that specificity, it has a few genuinely creepy images and a likable lead to carry you through.
