Ghosted is the kind of breezy, crowd-pleasing movie that remembers the point of a Friday-night watch: give you sparks, laughs, and just enough spectacle to keep the popcorn moving. Chris Evans leans into earnest charm while Ana de Armas brings cool, capable charisma, and together they sell the flirtation even as the film gleefully pivots into globe-trotting action-comedy mode. Director Dexter Fletcher keeps the pace snappy and the tone light, delivering set pieces that are more playful than punishing and romance that doesn’t take itself too seriously. It’s not aiming to reinvent the genre—and yes, you can feel some familiar beats coming—but if you want an easy, enjoyable ride with movie-star chemistry and a wink in its smile, this one hits the spot.

Ghosted is clearly trying to mash up a breezy rom-com meet-cute with a globe-trotting spy caper, anchored by two hugely likable stars. The problem is it often feels like it’s ticking boxes rather than building momentum—jokes land with a thud, the tone keeps wobbling between cute and chaotic, and the story gets needlessly convoluted without ever feeling clever.
