What people think about Shattered
Shattered is the kind of slick, high-tension thriller that takes a modern luxury fortress and turns it into a very expensive trap, squeezing suspense out of every locked door and blinking security light. Luis Prieto keeps the vibe glossy and nasty in the best B-movie way, with sharp jolts, mean-spirited twists, and a steady sense that comfort and control are illusions. Cameron Monaghan anchors it with a nervy, watchable performance, while Lilly Krug brings a chilling unpredictability that makes even quiet moments feel dangerous. It’s not for the squeamish—this one earns its horror-crime stripes with brutal violence and sexual content—but if you’re in the mood for a boisterous, trashy, edge-of-your-seat ride, it delivers.
Shattered wants to be a sleek, modern erotic home-invasion thriller where wealth, isolation, and “smart” security become a trap, and on paper that’s a solid hook. In practice, the movie leans hard on contrived decisions and lumpy plotting, so the tension often feels forced instead of earned, and the twists play more like checkboxes than shocks. Cameron Monaghan and Frank Grillo bring some intensity, and the Montana setting plus the high-tech house give it a glossy surface, but the performances and logic gaps can make it tough to stay invested. If you’re allergic to implausible thrillers or you’re expecting something in the league of the classic erotic thrillers it’s borrowing from, this will likely frustrate you; if you just want a nasty, pulpy ride with gnarly violence and don’t mind nonsense, you may get enough mileage.
