Olivia Luccardi gives Remy a fascinating, unnerving opacity, and the film’s best trick is how it uses its lurid setting to stare straight at hypocrisy—about faith, about sex, about who gets judged and who gets protected. It’s not for the squeamish or anyone allergic to explicit adult material, but if you want a disturbing, memorable horror-thriller with atmosphere to spare, this one sticks.
