Maximilian Erlenwein stages the ordeal with crisp craftsmanship and striking underwater photography that turns a beautiful remote cove into an unforgiving maze, while Louisa Krause and Sophie Lowe make the relationship at the story’s core feel lived-in rather than melodramatic. The movie’s pace is relentless without feeling noisy, building suspense through physical problem-solving and the awful arithmetic of time, depth, and air. If you’re claustrophobic about underwater settings or want a sprawling action spectacle, it may be a tough sit—but if you like survival thrillers that feel plausible, intimate, and nerve-tight from the first descent, this one absolutely delivers.
