The problem is it rarely surprises you: the story hits the expected transformation-and-tragedy beats, and the pacing can feel sluggish between the attacks, like it’s stalling to reach the next full-moon set piece. Character drama is there in intention, especially the mother-daughter angle, but it doesn’t always land with the emotional weight the film wants, so you may end up admiring the effort more than feeling it.
