Adam Green keeps the pace mean and gleeful, letting the Louisiana bayou vibe drip with campfire dread while the movie winks at you through every outrageous, effects-driven kill. Danielle Harris gives the carnage a sturdy center as Marybeth, and Kane Hodder’s Victor Crowley is a hulking, relentless presence that feels ripped from the era when horror icons were built one brutal set-piece at a time. If you’re squeamish or want subtle, psychological scares, steer clear—but if you’re on the fence and crave a knowingly ridiculous, crowd-pleasing slasher that delivers exactly what it promises, this one’s an easy yes.
