Set almost entirely in a stark, windowless room, it turns small gestures and passing glances into weapons, building suspense through sharp construction and psychological pressure rather than flashy action. The movie’s real pleasure is watching intelligence collide with desperation as teamwork curdles into suspicion, all under the cold hum of rules that feel designed to tempt you into breaking them. It’s not for viewers who need big set pieces or a warm humanistic glow—there’s intimidation and some nasty moments—but if you like lean, ambitious mysteries that make you think while they sweat you, this one is a terrific 80-minute trap.

Exam is clearly trying to be a lean, high-concept pressure-cooker thriller where the real test is psychology, ethics, and group dynamics rather than a traditional whodunit. When it works, the single-room setup creates solid tension and a few actors sell the paranoia convincingly, so you may enjoy it if you like minimalist, dialogue-driven mind games. But the logic can feel bendy, characters sometimes behave like the plot needs them to, and the mystery’s “aha” moment may strike you as clever on paper but a bit undercooked in execution. If you need airtight rules, believable decision-making, and a payoff that feels earned rather than engineered, this one may leave you more annoyed than thrilled.
