Noah Baumbach’s writing has that sharp, nervous Los Angeles vibe—wry, uncomfortable, and oddly romantic in its honesty—finding humor in the mess without mocking the people making it. It’s not a feel-good rom-com and Roger can be maddening, but if you’re in the mood for a smart, human film about two lost souls trying to do better, Greenberg is absolutely worth your time.
