Pandorum (2009)

Pandorum is the kind of sci-fi horror that doesn’t just scare you—it swallows you whole, dropping you into a rusted, labyrinthine spacecraft where every shadow feels alive and every unanswered question tightens the vise. Christian Alvart builds a nasty, immersive atmosphere with terrific industrial set design, letting the ship’s claustrophobia do as much work as the jolts of violence, while Ben Foster and Dennis Quaid ground the panic with characters you can actually hold onto. The movie keeps its mystery simmering as the suspense escalates, delivering a grim, propulsive ride that feels like a bad dream you can’t wake up from. Fair warning: it’s relentlessly intense and pretty graphic, but if you want interstellar horror that’s more than cheap jump scares, this one earns its cult devotion.

Pandorum is aiming for a grimy, claustrophobic sci-fi horror ride where amnesia, paranoia, and a failing spaceship slowly tighten into a survival mystery.
