Superdeep is clearly aiming for a grim, claustrophobic Soviet-era descent into body-horror, mixing secret-military paranoia with a “what’s living down there?” creature premise. The problem is the film often feels like it’s borrowing familiar beats without earning them, and the story can get muddled, with logic gaps that make the tension leak out when it should be tightening. If you need smart, coherent sci‑fi rules and characters who behave believably under pressure, this one may test your patience.
