Crawlers is the kind of scrappy, crowd-pleasing B-movie that knows exactly what it is: a fast, funny, gross-out sci-fi horror ride that turns Saint Patrick’s Day chaos into the perfect cover for an alien takeover. The body-snatching hook feels like a modern, beer-soaked riff on classic invasion stories, and the movie keeps things moving with a likable trio at the center who make the mayhem oddly endearing even when it gets nasty. Brandon Zuck leans into a playful, midnight-movie vibe—more “grab friends and enjoy the insanity” than “sleep-with-the-lights-on” terror—while still delivering enough tension and creature-driven surprises to satisfy genre fans. It’s not for everyone if you’re allergic to heavy party antics, vomiting, and drug talk, but if you want something clever, quick, and unapologetically fun, this one goes down easy.

Crawlers is clearly aiming for a rowdy, St. Patrick’s Day party-horror mashup where scrappy underdogs stumble into an alien body-snatching outbreak and have to sober up fast. The problem is the execution often feels bargain-bin: the pacing drags, the plot hits familiar beats you can see coming, and the characters make choices that are more frustrating than funny or tense. If you’re allergic to low-budget creature features, heavy party-drunk chaos (including lots of drinking and vomiting), or narration that can grate, this will likely test your patience. Still, if you enjoy goofy B-movie energy and can forgive rough edges for a few spirited moments and a committed trio of leads, you might get some late-night, “so bad it’s okay” mileage out of it.
