Baggage Claim is the kind of glossy, cheerfully escapist rom-com that knows exactly what it wants to be: a breezy, airport-hopping fantasy about love, deadlines, and the mess we make when we confuse pressure with destiny. Paula Patton carries it with a luminous warmth that keeps the comedy grounded, even when the suitors turn into a parade of charming disasters, and the film’s bright, polished vibe makes it easy to sink into like a comfort watch. The humor comes less from punchlines than from watching a capable woman try to “solve” romance like a checklist—and learning, in the process, what can’t be scheduled. It won’t convert rom-com skeptics who want subtle realism, but if you’re on the fence and craving something light, flirty, and feel-good, this one delivers.
