Agnieszka Smoczyńska films June and Jennifer’s inner world with a bold, playful imagination, slipping into stylized flourishes, animation, and musical reverie that feel like the only honest language the sisters have. Letitia Wright and Tamara Lawrance are mesmerizing together, communicating oceans of longing, defiance, and tenderness in the silences, and the movie’s empathy makes their choices feel less like headlines and more like heartbreak.
