Blended is clearly trying to be a sunny, family-friendly rom-com about two bruised parents learning to co-parent, heal, and maybe fall in love in the most forced-cute setup imaginable. The problem is it leans hard on Adam Sandler-style juvenile gags and repetitive slapstick, then abruptly asks you to get misty-eyed about grief, divorce, and puberty—so the tone can feel like it’s ping-ponging between sitcom noise and earnest therapy session. If you’re allergic to formula, schmaltz, or jokes that play a bit broad and dated, this will test your patience fast.
