Planet Terror (2007)

Planet Terror is the kind of movie that grabs you by the collar and drags you into a neon-lit, blood-splattered grindhouse fever dream—made with such craft and conviction that its “trashy” pleasures feel lovingly curated. Robert Rodriguez turns a zombie outbreak into a propulsion system, keeping the pace breathless while the visuals get stranger, grosser, and more inventive by the minute, all anchored by Rose McGowan’s game, charismatic toughness as Cherry Darling. It’s funny in a wicked, self-aware way without ever winking so hard it breaks the spell, and the action lands with the satisfying clarity of a director who knows exactly how to stage mayhem.
