Transit (2012)
Nate takes his family for a camping trip to reconnect. When they pull off at a rest stop, a gang of thieves hides their stash from an armored car robbery among the family belongings. They soon find themselves on the run and the gang will stop at nothing to get their money back.
What people think about Transit
Transit is the kind of lean, no-nonsense thriller that grabs you by the collar early and refuses to let go, turning an ordinary family outing into a breathless race against time. It thrives on momentum—tight pacing, escalating danger, and action that feels immediate and close enough to make you shift in your seat—while keeping the tension simmering with a few well-timed surprises. The vibe is gritty and relentless rather than glossy, more about survival and split-second decisions than grand heroics. It’s not for viewers who need airtight logic in every turn, but if you want an efficiently made, high-intensity chase movie that delivers suspense the old-fashioned way, it’s an easy ticket.
Transit is clearly aiming for a lean, high-concept chase thriller: ordinary family, wrong place at the wrong time, criminals closing in. The problem is it leans hard on convenience and questionable decisions, so instead of tension you may find yourself rolling your eyes at how predictably each beat lands and how illogically people behave. The shaky, disorienting camera work doesn’t help, often making the action feel messier than exciting. If you can switch your brain off and just want a brisk, no-frills cat-and-mouse ride, there are a few serviceable moments—but if you need smart plotting or originality, this will likely feel like wasted time.
