Year One (2009)

Year One is the kind of goofy, big-swing comedy that feels like a road trip through a storybook version of the ancient world, powered less by plot mechanics than by the warm, odd-couple chemistry of Jack Black and Michael Cera. Harold Ramis keeps the vibe light and shaggy, letting the jokes come from modern comic timing dropped into old-timey settings, and when it works, it’s pleasantly, almost disarmingly silly.
